Let's address flooding and drainage, League City expansion and infrastructure, Police and Fire, and good stewardship of our fine City.
Before I vote Yes, on expenditures, considerations need to be made about the money and the need. What does it cost? where does the money come from? Is it a bond issue? Are we trying to raise tax revenue? Can we get a grant instead?
Anytime we can fund a project without raising taxes it is positive for both the city as well as it's citizens. There are grants available for cities that can fund some expansions and projects. We need to always check into free money before we just write a check.
I do think we have to hold contractors accountable. Once we have a price, the price should be the price. If a contractor is in error, the city should not bail them out. I deal with contractors every day with my company, they will nickel and dime you to death if you allow it. The key is that the price is the price that was agreed upon.
My number one issue in League City is drainage. We live in the greatest City in Galveston County in my opinion the greatest city in Texas and we have entire neighborhoods going underwater. That is unacceptable. That cannot happen.
Council has improved drainage considerable but it is not done yet.
See info below that I've been reading.

I know Larry is very involved in drainage meetings with different neighborhood and he is very good at that. There are projects that are underway and others that are getting ready to start. This is my number one priority. To get involved to see how we can fix it and move it along a little faster.
League City is growing. Expansion requires that we be prepared for increasing traffic, additional homes being built and helping small businesses, which are the back bone of our city and employs a large number of our citizens.
Wes believes strongly in supporting the League City Police Department. Officers need safety equiptment available to them for their protection. Officers risk their lives on a daily basis so we can have a safe and secure life. Our Officers should be held up as heros, not be persecuted.
League City fire fighters run into danger, as the rest of us run from it. They do not do this for money or prestigue. League City Fire Department is a volunteer Fire Department. They deserve the utmost respect and appreciation.
